"Pay for the Drinks, I'm Going to Perform a Gut," School Violence Nightmare Continued Even After Graduation... 20s Woman Extorted Hundreds of Millions from Alumni
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The nightmare of school violence did not end even after graduation.
A woman in her 20s who threatened a classmate she had bullied since high school and extorted over 100 million won for living expenses over three years was fined.
The Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 3 (Judge Kim Yong-hee) announced on the 28th that it sentenced Ms. A, who was tried on charges of habitual extortion, to a fine of 5 million won.
Ms. A is accused of sending 818 phone calls or text messages to her high school classmate Mr. B from January 2018 to January 2021, threatening him and extorting a total of 127.38 million won.
According to the court, they were high school classmates, and Ms. A had continuously bullied Mr. B during their school days by hitting his face and body and using abusive language.
It is known that Mr. B continued to feel extreme fear of Ms. A even after graduation.
Ms. A exploited this fear to extort money from Mr. B under various pretexts such as cigarette money, alcohol expenses, transportation costs, mobile phone bills, wedding congratulatory money, childcare expenses, one-room deposit, monthly rent, traffic accident settlement costs, personal loan repayments, and shamanistic ritual fees.

The court stated, “The defendant continuously intimidated the victim over three years and extorted a large sum of money, which is a serious offense. However, considering that the degree of threats was not severe, that part of the money was paid, and that the rest was promised to be repaid in monthly installments, the defendant was sentenced to a fine.”
