Strong Performance at Asian Tour 2022/2023 Season 2nd Round Royals Cup, Kim Si-hwan and Kaeukkanjanai Tie for 2nd Place
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Kim Bio (32, Hoban Construction, photo) showed a strong performance.
On the 27th (Korean time), at the Asian Tour Royal's Cup (total prize money $400,000) held at Kanchanaburi Grand Prix Golf Course in Thailand (par 72, 7,215 yards), he finished the final day with 4-under par to tie for 4th place (17-under par 271). Following a tie for 28th place at the season opener PIF Saudi International, this is his second tournament of the 2022/2023 season finishing in the 'Top 5'. He has been actively participating in the Asian Tour since last year. In December last year, he also entered the 'Top 10' for four consecutive tournaments, including a runner-up finish at the Laguna Phuket Championship.

He started off well with a birdie on the 2nd hole (par 5), added birdies on the 6th and 10th holes (both par 4), and finished cleanly by reducing one stroke again on the final 18th hole (par 5). Chan Si-chang (Taiwan) recorded 4-under par to secure the victory by 3 strokes (23-under par 265). This is his second win on the Asian Tour, with a winner's prize of $72,000 (87 million KRW).

Kim Si-hwan (USA) and Sadom Kaewkanjana tied for 2nd place (20-under par 268), while Jazz Janewattananond (both from Thailand) tied for 6th place (15-under par 273). Last season's Asian Tour money leader Kim Joo-hyung (20, CJ Logistics) surged with 7-under par to climb to 17th place (13-under par 275). Moon Do-yeop (31, DB Insurance) and Kwon Sung-yeol (36) tied for 23rd place (11-under par 277). The Asian Tour's third event of the season, the International Series Thailand, will be held from March 3rd.
