[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 26th that it will strengthen the government's emergency response system for cyber threats as cyber threats are increasing worldwide due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Science and ICT has disseminated security advisories to national and public institutions to inspect vulnerabilities in major systems and infrastructure, and is strengthening 24-hour monitoring against website defacement, DDoS, and ransomware attacks targeting major public services such as financial institutions.
In addition, in preparation for cyber intrusion incidents such as DDoS attacks, an emergency contact network system has been established for rapid response through information sharing on cyber threats with key related organizations such as telecommunications companies and antivirus providers.
