The bereaved family completed the funeral procedures and then informed the Ministry of the victim's death, and the Ministry reportedly stated that the family requested confidentiality regarding the victim's personal information.
Minister of Gender Equality and Family Jeong Young-ae expressed deep condolences on the passing of the comfort woman victim.
Minister Jeong said, "It is heartbreaking that another former comfort woman victim of the Japanese military has passed away. Having suffered from the painful memories of the victimization throughout her life, I hope she now finds peace."
