[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] On the 23rd (local time), Intel announced the launch of the 12th generation Intel Core P series and U series processors, expanding the 12th generation Intel Core processor lineup.
A total of 20 new mobile processors will be installed in more than 250 notebook products from Samsung Electronics, LG, and others starting from March this year.
Chris Walker, Intel Vice President and General Manager of the Mobility Client Platform Division, said, “Following the launch of the fastest gaming mobile processor, Intel is expanding the 12th generation Intel Core processor lineup to significantly enhance the performance of thin and light notebooks. Intel provides consumers and businesses with the best performance and advanced technology, from ultra-slim form factors to sleek designs offering top performance for enthusiasts.”
The new processors for thin and light devices, like other 12th generation Intel Core processors, are based on Intel’s high-performance hybrid architecture combining Performance cores and Efficient cores. Running on Windows 11, Intel Thread Director optimizes multitasking by ensuring workloads such as video calls, web browsing, and photo editing are processed on the appropriate cores at the right time.
The new 12th generation Intel Core mobile processors for thin and light devices offer specifications and features including ▲a new core architecture with up to 14 cores (6 Performance cores, 8 Efficient cores) ▲integrated Intel® Iris® Xe graphics with up to 96 EUs ▲broad memory support including DDR5/LPDDR5 and DDR4/LPDDR4 ▲up to 70% faster multi-threaded performance[1] ▲2x improved 3D rendering[2] performance for mobility-demanding creators ▲up to 30% faster photo editing[3] speed for excellent productivity ▲and integrated Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) support for improved wireless performance, responsiveness, and stability.
Notebooks aiming to obtain Intel Evo™ certification will undergo practical verification processes to ensure they handle the most demanding workloads, deliver excellent responsiveness, instant wake, real battery life, fast charging, and provide an outstanding video conferencing experience.
Intel Evo certified notebooks equipped with 12th generation Intel Core mobile processors are optimized for multitasking, maintaining excellent connectivity while supporting high-quality images and group video calls.
This year, more than 100 Intel Evo certified products, including the first foldable display and notebook equipped with the 12th generation Intel Core H series, are expected to be released.
