Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee Launches Children's Eye-Level Environmental Education 'Green Plus Kids'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 24th that it has implemented the children's eye-level environmental education program "Green Plus Kids" for lower-grade elementary school students for the first time in the committee's history.
Thomas Klein, Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, stated, "We have prepared education for the sustainable future of children," adding, "We will carry out systematic education so that children, the hope of the future, can realize the seriousness of climate change and continue valuable habits for environmental protection."
The "Green Plus Kids" program, conducted on the 22nd in collaboration with the social welfare corporation Children and Future Foundation, is part of the carbon-neutral practice environmental program "Mercedes-Benz Green Plus." It was planned for the first time this year as an experiential eye-level education program to help first and second-grade elementary school children easily understand the dangers of climate change and learn the importance of practicing carbon neutrality.
"Green Plus Kids" will be conducted sequentially throughout the year in three module stages: "Carbon Neutrality," "Climate Action," and "Experiential Education." Educational materials are provided with storytelling-based foldable hands-on creative kits, stickers, and other audiovisual materials tailored to children's perspectives, allowing them to intuitively experience the importance of environmental protection and learn actions to practice carbon neutrality in daily life.

The first "Green Plus Kids" education session was conducted for about 2,520 individual participants and teachers from approximately 134 institutions and schools who applied in advance earlier this month, enabling a total of about 5,000 children to receive Mercedes-Benz's new environmental education. Additionally, the Social Contribution Committee is accepting additional applications from institutions and schools wishing to participate in "Carbon Neutrality" education through the Green Plus official website starting from the 7th of next month.
