[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Korea Investment Trust Management was selected as the Best Overseas ETF Manager at the 2022 Asia Fund Awards.
Korea Investment Trust Management launched two major U.S. index ETFs at the end of 2020 and grew to become the second largest in Korea within about a year. The one-year returns of the ‘KINDEX US S&P500 ETF’ and ‘KINDEX US Nasdaq100 ETF’ were 24.5% and 14.3%, respectively.
Earlier, in 2016, it gained attention by launching the first ETF in Korea to invest in the Vietnam market. The ‘KINDEX Vietnam VN30 ETF’ is an ETF managed in linkage with the VN30 index, which is calculated and announced by the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) in Vietnam.
The VN30 index consists of 30 representative stocks selected based on market capitalization, liquidity, and trading volume among the listed stocks on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, reflecting market representativeness. The returns recorded were 1% over 3 months, 8.8% over 6 months, 47.1% over 1 year, 90.3% over 3 years, and 133% over 5 years. It has net assets of 219.9 billion KRW and remains the only ETF listed domestically that tracks the Vietnam market.
