Jeongeup-si Promotes Environmental Improvement Project for SMEs... Up to 20 Million Won Support
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 23rd that it will promote the "Small and Medium Enterprise Environmental Improvement Project" to improve the poor infrastructure and labor/work environment of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
To enhance worker welfare, the city will support facility improvements such as dormitories, cafeterias, changing rooms, restrooms, and fitness rooms for small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 200 employees.
Additionally, to improve the working environment, the city plans to support the repair and maintenance of noise and odor prevention facilities, ventilation facilities, lighting facilities, etc., to help increase corporate productivity.
For this purpose, the city has allocated a project budget of 340 million KRW this year.
Of the total project cost, with a subsidy ratio of 60% and self-payment of 40%, the city will support up to 20 million KRW per company for working environment improvement projects and up to 10 million KRW for welfare benefit improvement projects.
The city received applications from interested companies from the 20th of last month to the 4th of this month and plans to support all 23 companies that applied.
Last year, the city selected 30 companies in the region and supported them with 424 million KRW for lighting, flooring, air emission facilities, restroom construction, and other projects.
A city official said, "We hope this project will provide some help to companies struggling due to COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to pay attention and make efforts to prepare support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises in the region."
Meanwhile, the city is striving to resolve difficulties faced by local companies and create a business-friendly environment through business meetings and on-site visits.
