SPC Samlip Unveils the 'Returned Pokemon Bread'
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] SPC Samlip announced on the 23rd that it will newly release the ‘Pokemon Bread,’ which was highly popular in the past.
Pokemon Bread was first released in 1998 and became a nationwide sensation at the time of its launch. It sparked a craze for collecting ‘Ttibuseal’ (stickers that can be peeled off and stuck back on) included with the bread, selling an average of 5 million units per month. After Pokemon Bread was discontinued, consumers continuously requested its re-release.
In response, SPC Samlip launched the ‘Returned Pokemon Bread’ series with the concept of ‘recalling those memories from back then.’
The Returned Pokemon Bread series consists of seven types, including the popular ‘Returned Ghos Choco Cake’ and ‘Returned Rocket Dan Choco Roll,’ as well as popular Pokemon-themed items such as ‘Pikapika Moist Cheese Cake,’ ‘Paili’s Fiery Hot Sauce Bread,’ ‘Digda’s Strawberry Custard Bread,’ ‘Kkobugi’s Sweet Crispy Kkobugi Bread,’ and ‘Purin’s Soft Strawberry Cream Bread.’ Notably, 159 types of Ttibuseal stickers are randomly included inside the products to add to the fun of collecting.
The products are available for purchase at convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide.
