'TMS (Tele Monitoring System)' refers to a system that continuously measures environmental pollutants and connects them online to the main computer of the control center to monitor pollutant discharge situations 24 hours a day.
This year, the province plans to spend a total of 726 million KRW to install color TMS at major discharge points such as the final discharge outlets of large-scale color wastewater discharging businesses in the Hantangang River basin and establish a real-time color monitoring system.
The project targets this year were selected mainly among large-scale businesses of types 1 to 3 that directly discharge treated water into rivers or send it to the Sincheon and Dongducheon sewage treatment plants, totaling 20 locations: 5 in Dongducheon, 3 in Pocheon, and 12 in Yangju.
Among these, 16 are textile companies, 1 is a leather company, and 3 are public sewage and wastewater treatment plants.
The installation at the targeted sites is scheduled to be completed in the first half of this year, followed by a nine-month pilot operation to ensure effective system utilization.
In particular, if the color of the discharged water reaches the standard level, a warning message is automatically sent to relevant officials and on-site workers, enabling prompt action, and the color values are transmitted in real time so that discharging businesses can also manage autonomously.
Earlier, on the 22nd, the province held the "2022 First Half Hantangang Color Improvement Comprehensive Measures Inspection Meeting" at the northern government office building of Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Deputy Governor Lee Han-gyu, to discuss the progress and future directions.
Currently, in addition to the TMS project, support for the demonstration of new technologies at public treatment facilities and water quality improvement support for small and medium enterprises are underway, and 451 million KRW in national funds have been secured to reinforce the color reduction facility functions of public sewage treatment plants.
