Aide to People Power Party Local Assembly Member Steals Cash from ATM... Police on the Trail
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] It has been reported that a secretary of a Busan-area lawmaker from the People Power Party stole cash from an ATM and fled, with the police currently pursuing the suspect.
According to the police on the 22nd, Mr. A, in his 50s, took cash that a previous user had withdrawn but did not collect from an ATM located in Geumjeong-gu around 11:50 a.m. on January 26.
The police are tracking Mr. A on suspicion of theft, but the amount has not been disclosed.
Mr. A was a driving secretary for a Busan-area National Assembly member affiliated with the People Power Party, and the police confirmed his identity by checking the license plate of his vehicle.
A police official stated, “We are currently tracking Mr. A’s movements through CCTV, but we cannot disclose detailed information as the investigation is ongoing.”
Mr. A applied for dismissal from the lawmaker’s office last weekend for personal reasons.
