Jangheung-gun Dementia Safety Center Operates Dedicated One-on-One Program for Dementia Patients
Operation of the 'Jibeseo Kkomjirak' Program, Selecting Over 150 Elderly Residents in the Area
[Jangheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Dementia Safety Center in Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will operate the one-on-one individual support program called ‘Jibeseo Kkomjirak’ cognitive enhancement program to provide safe dementia management services amid the COVID-19 situation.
This program is known to help prevent the worsening of dementia symptoms through various cognitive stimulation activities, as well as induce a sense of self-achievement and emotional stability.
The center selected 150 people, focusing on elderly dementia patients living alone.
After delivering cognitive rehabilitation kits, dementia care specialists conduct one home visit and four phone consultations to explain cognitive learning materials, motivate learning, and simultaneously conduct health status changes and daily life condition surveys.
