BC Card launches NFT and Metaverse-based PLCC with Dunamu
Joint Promotion of Innovative Services Linking Blockchain, Fintech, and Cards
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] BC Card is partnering with blockchain and fintech specialist Dunamu to launch a private label credit card (PLCC) and provide innovative services.
BC Card announced on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dunamu at the Upbit Lounge in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Won-seok, President of BC Card; Kim Hyung-nyeon, Vice Chairman of Dunamu; and Lee Seok-woo, CEO of Dunamu.
Under this agreement, the two companies will launch the PLCC called 'Dunamu BC Card' and collaborate to expand future-oriented digital customer experiences. For example, when using the Dunamu BC Card to purchase certain products offline, the product will be issued as a non-fungible token (NFT), which can then be used as an item on Dunamu's metaverse platform, 'SecondBlock.'
Additionally, both companies plan to continue various experiments and research based on their respective experiences and expertise. Vice Chairman Kim said, "Dunamu and BC Card will provide innovative service experiences that will lead the mega trends of the digital economy," adding, "We hope that new technologies such as NFTs and the metaverse will become practically useful in everyday life through our joint efforts."
