The Won Yoonjong team, composed of pilot Won Yoonjong, Kim Donghyun, Kim Jinsu (both from Gangwon Province Office), and Jung Hyunwoo (Korea National Sport University), recorded a combined time of 3 minutes 58.02 seconds over four runs in the men's four-man bobsleigh final held on the 20th at the National Sliding Center in Yanqing, Beijing. Although they failed to secure a medal, they concluded their campaign with dignity.
The Won Yoonjong team crossed the finish line with a combined time of 1 minute 59.05 seconds after the first and second runs. Advancing to the final with a third run time of 59.38 seconds, the team delivered a clean performance in the fourth run but was affected by a collision at corner 13, resulting in a final run time of 59.59 seconds.
Having won the silver medal in the men's four-man bobsleigh at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the Won Yoonjong team aimed for consecutive medals but fell short this time.
The Seok Youngjin team, also competing in the four-man bobsleigh, ranked 26th with a combined time of 2 minutes 00.05 seconds after the first and second runs. Crossing the finish line in 59.91 seconds in the third run, the Seok Youngjin team improved their overall ranking by one spot to 25th with a total time of 2 minutes 59.96 seconds but failed to qualify for the final fourth run, which is reserved for the top 20 teams.
