Police Do Not Prosecute Union Leader on Charges of Obstructing Work During Parcel Delivery Strike
Gwangjin Police Station, Decision of Non-Prosecution on the 4th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] It has been confirmed that the delivery workers' union chairman, who was accused of obstruction of business, recently received a non-prosecution disposition.
On the 20th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 4th, they decided not to prosecute the case in which Jin Kyungho, chairman of the delivery workers' union, and Yoon Junghyun, head of the National Delivery Workers' Union Post Office Headquarters, were accused of obstruction of business. This decision is interpreted as considering that the procedure was conducted lawfully.
The delivery workers' union held a general strike on June 9 last year to urge the resolution of the issue of delivery workers' death from overwork. In response, the Korea Post Headquarters filed a complaint with the police accusing Chairman Jin and former head Yoon, who led the strike, of obstruction of business.
