[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province has achieved the highest grade for three consecutive years, the only city in Gyeongbuk Province to do so, in the final evaluation of the public institution personal information management level diagnosis.
The 'Public Institution Personal Information Management Level Diagnosis' is conducted annually on about 800 central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions. A diagnosis committee composed of experts evaluates each institution's personal information protection management system, protection measures, and infringement countermeasures to determine the management grade.
Gumi City explained that it has been preventing personal information leaks and infringement incidents through the personal information access record management system and has raised awareness of personal information protection by operating an online self-learning system for all employees.
In addition, personal information stored on work PCs has been encrypted, and overall management policies have been strengthened.
