Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Holds Village Preparatory University Project Briefing Session
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam held a project briefing session for the operation of the Village Preparatory University to enhance the capabilities of local residents.
On the 18th, Sancheong-gun held a project briefing session for representatives of 30 priority villages for village creation specified in the Rural Agreement at the county office's large conference room.
This briefing session, hosted by the Rural Agreement Support Center, was prepared to facilitate the smooth promotion of the city/county capacity-building project, which is a target project of the Rural Agreement.
The "Village Preparatory University" is a program designed to encourage active participation of residents and maximize their potential capabilities. It is conducted to utilize residents' self-confidence recovery and motivation as a driving force for rural development.

The Support Center acts as an intermediary organization between administration and residents, serving as a dedicated institution for sustainable resident capacity building. It was established to foster customized human resources suitable for the conditions of the Sancheong area and to establish resident-led regional development. It carries out support for the implementation of the Rural Agreement, rural field forums (Village Preparatory University) for village creation project districts, and activation consulting for completed project districts.
A center official explained, "Villages selected for this year's Village Preparatory University must independently establish a village preparatory plan after strengthening resident capabilities in order to promote the 2023 village creation project."
