Papa John's Raises Average Prices of Some Pizzas by 6.7%
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Amid a series of food and beverage price hikes since the beginning of the year, Korea Papa John's has also joined the price increase trend.
According to industry sources on the 15th, Papa John's will raise the prices of some pizza products by an average of 6.7% starting from the 2nd of next month. This is Papa John's first price increase in about eight years since 2014.
Regular size pizzas will increase by 1,000 KRW, large size by 2,000 KRW, and family size by 1,000 to 3,000 KRW. The representative menu item, the 'Super Papas' large size, will increase by 7.5%, from 26,500 KRW to 28,500 KRW.
However, side menu items and some recently launched pizza products are not included in the price increase.
A Papa John's representative said, "Due to rising costs of ingredients, logistics, and labor, we have inevitably decided to raise prices."
Earlier, Pizza Alvolo raised pizza prices by up to 6% starting from the 3rd of this month. This is about 10 months after their last price increase in April of last year. Pizza Alvolo explained that the price hike was decided due to increased raw material costs, rising labor costs, and a shortage of delivery personnel.
