Namwon-si 'Together 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony' Successfully Held
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City in Jeonbuk announced on the 15th that it held the 'Together 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony' to promote on-site civil complaints services visiting citizens in order to reduce the living gap among vulnerable groups.
At the launch ceremony held that day, more than 20 people including public officials and private volunteers attended, and they made a new resolution to carry out dynamic city administration, citizen (user)-centered administrative promotion starting with a new mindset in 2022, and proactive volunteer administration communicating directly with citizens.
The 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps for on-site visits, composed of 16 experts in 9 fields, selects one village each on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week to provide volunteer services targeting vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients, elderly living alone, and disabled persons.
The main services include resolving daily inconveniences such as electricity, gas, water, mobile laundry service, agricultural machinery repair, welfare counseling, dementia counseling, traditional Korean medicine counseling, and mental health reassurance services, providing citizen-centered volunteer administrative services for elderly with mobility difficulties.
The city also operates a communication administration field experience day with senior public officials.
There will also be communication meetings to listen to and collect opinions on difficulties and suggestions from local residents.
The 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps plans to flexibly promote activities considering citizen participation and efficiency, especially during the farming off-season, covering about 100 villages, and will start full-scale activities beginning with the Jaesil Village in Hyanggyo.
Song Do-jun, head of Jaesil Village in Hyanggyo-dong, said, “The Namwon City 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps visiting Jaesil Village to support administrative services such as welfare counseling and mobile laundry service to solve daily inconveniences for vulnerable groups will strengthen the recovery of the village residents’ stagnant daily lives.”
A city official said, “We hope the citizen-centered volunteer administration that is 100% delivered to citizens will be promoted, and we ask that you do your best in your role as the ‘Together Namwon City 120 Civil Service Volunteer Corps.’”
If citizens experience inconveniences or vulnerable households need help with daily life difficulties, they can contact the 120 Volunteer Corps by phone.
