Busan Breaks Another Record for COVID-19 Cases... Daily Confirmed Cases Hit New High for Four Consecutive Days, Staying in the 3,000s

As of midnight on the 14th, Busan City announced that there were a total of 3,520 new COVID-19 confirmed cases in the region in one day.
This surpassed the previous record of 3,442 cases set the day before, marking four consecutive days with daily confirmed cases in the 3,000s.
New cluster infections occurred at a nursing facility in Dong-gu, a hospital in Sasang-gu, and a hospital in Seo-gu, Busan.
At the nursing facility in Dong-gu, proactive testing identified 2 staff members and 1 resident confirmed positive on the 11th. Through contact tracing within the facility, an additional 21 people were confirmed positive, including 4 staff members and 17 residents. The cumulative total of confirmed cases has now risen to 24 (6 staff, 18 residents).
At the hospital in Sasang-gu, proactive testing confirmed 1 staff member and 1 patient positive on the 8th. Subsequently, through periodic testing, 39 people including 5 staff members and 34 patients were infected as a cluster. The cumulative confirmed cases total 41 (6 staff, 35 patients).
At the hospital in Seo-gu, proactive testing confirmed 1 staff member positive on the 4th. Following periodic testing, by the 12th, 23 people including 1 staff member and 22 patients were confirmed positive, and on the 13th, an additional 16 patients tested positive. The related cumulative confirmed cases have increased to 40 (2 staff, 38 patients).
Busan City reported that cohort measures have been implemented for these facilities.
Additional infections have also surged at two hospitals and two nursing hospitals where cluster infections had previously occurred.
Two confirmed patients in their 90s have died in Busan, bringing the total cumulative deaths to 392.

The total number of confirmed patients under treatment is 25,311, including 14,641 receiving home treatment. There are 23 critically ill patients (15 aged 70 and above, 3 in their 60s, 2 in their 50s, and 3 aged 40 or younger).
