According to Sejong City on the 14th, Mayor Lee was confirmed to have COVID-19 the previous day and will receive treatment at home until midnight on the 18th.
On the 12th, a cohabiting family member tested positive for COVID-19, and Mayor Lee underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test that afternoon, resulting in a final positive diagnosis on the morning of the 13th.
The city has instructed secretariat and city hall employees who had close contact with the mayor to undergo rapid antigen tests. Those who test positive on the rapid antigen test will receive a PCR test.
