Busan Daily COVID-19 Cases Set New Records, Over 3,000 for Three Consecutive Days
On the 11th, citizens gathered at a hospital in Seoul to get tested for COVID-19.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan has recorded the highest number of daily COVID-19 cases ever.
As of midnight on the 13th, Busan City announced that 3,442 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the region.
This surpasses the previous record of 3,051 cases set just a day earlier, marking three consecutive days with over 3,000 cases.
Among the additional confirmed cases, 3,440 are local infections or under investigation for infection sources, and 2 are imported cases.
A new cluster infection occurred at a nursing hospital in Suyeong-gu.
After one inpatient at this nursing hospital tested positive, another patient in the same room was also confirmed positive. Subsequently, a full investigation of staff and patients identified 8 more positive cases, including 5 patients and 3 staff members. The total number of confirmed cases so far is 10 (7 patients, 3 staff).
Additional infections have surged at two other nursing hospitals and one hospital where cluster infections had previously occurred.
At another nursing hospital in Suyeong-gu, 20 more cases were confirmed, including 8 staff and 12 patients, bringing the cumulative total to 84 (23 staff, 61 patients).
At a nursing hospital in Saha-gu, two more patients tested positive through periodic testing, increasing the related cumulative confirmed cases to 71 (11 staff, 60 patients).
Additionally, two confirmed patients, one in their 90s and one in their 80s, have died, bringing the total death toll to 390.

The total number of patients currently under treatment is 25,311, including 13,830 receiving home treatment. There are 17 critically ill patients (10 aged 70 or older, 3 in their 60s, 1 in their 50s, and 3 aged 40 or younger).
