View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee held a plenary session on the 11th and passed an amendment to the Public Official Election Act that allows only COVID-19 confirmed and quarantined individuals to visit designated polling stations near their residences and vote on-site between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM on the presidential election day (March 9).
To participate in voting, individuals must obtain prior 'temporary outing' permission from the quarantine authorities, and must arrive at the polling station and receive a number ticket before 7:30 PM to be eligible to vote.

Previously, the ruling and opposition parties discussed extending the voting time by 3 hours for COVID-19 confirmed and quarantined individuals at the Political Reform Special Committee, but considering manpower and cost issues of the National Election Commission, the extension was adjusted to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
