Police Request Arrest Warrant for Man in His 30s Who Killed Parents and Brother
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The police have requested an arrest warrant for a man who killed his parents in their 60s and his older brother in his 30s at an apartment in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
The Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 11th that they applied for an arrest warrant for Kim, in his early 30s, on charges of murder and killing a family member.
Although the charge at the time of the emergency arrest the previous day was murder, the charge of killing a family member was added after it was officially confirmed that two of the three deceased were Kim's parents.
Kim's pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing) is scheduled to be held on the 12th at the Seoul Southern District Court.
Kim reported to 119 at around 6:50 a.m. the previous day, saying he had killed three people, after killing his parents and older brother. The police were notified of the report by the fire department and rushed to the scene, but the family was already deceased upon arrival.
The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to investigate the exact cause of death.
It is reported that Kim stated during the police investigation that he had received psychiatric treatment. He also received treatment for a hand injury sustained during the crime.
