View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] South Korea's national cross-country skiing representatives Lee Chaewon (40, Pyeongchang County Office) and Lee Euijin (20, Gyeonggi Province Office) successfully completed the race with their best performance.
Lee Chaewon and Lee Euijin participated in the women's 10km classic cross-country skiing event at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics held on the 10th at the National Cross-Country Ski Center in Zhangjiakou, China, and completed the course.
Starting 66th, Lee Chaewon finished the race in 34 minutes 45.5 seconds, placing 75th. Lee Euijin started 70th and recorded 34 minutes 07.9 seconds, finishing 72nd.
Through this competition, Lee Chaewon set a great record by participating in her sixth Olympic Games. Born in 1981, she is the oldest athlete among the Korean delegation at this event. Having announced her retirement after this competition, Lee Chaewon meaningfully concluded her final appearance by completing the race.
The first place was taken by Therese Johaug (Norway), who recorded 28 minutes 06.3 seconds. Earlier, she won the first gold medal of this Olympics on the 5th in the women's 15km skiathlon cross-country skiing event, becoming a two-time gold medalist.

Second place went to Kerttu Niskanen of Finland, who finished just 0.4 seconds behind Johaug, and third place was also claimed by Finland's Krista P?rm?koski.
