Vice President of the Korean Dental Association: "It will greatly help improve oral health"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A total of 1,234 dentists nationwide have declared their support for Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, in response to his pledge to expand implant coverage.
On the 10th, the Democratic Party's election committee issued a press release stating, "1,234 dentists, including Shin In-cheol and Hong Soo-yeon, vice presidents of the Korean Dental Association, have declared their support for candidate Lee Jae-myung."
On that day, the dentists held a support declaration ceremony in the party leader's conference room and announced, "Since two dental implants for the elderly are limited in restoring chewing function, it is necessary to expand to four implants, and we support candidate Lee who proposed this as a pledge."
In January, candidate Lee proposed policy pledges including ▲ expanding health insurance coverage for implants from two to four for those aged 65 and older ▲ newly adding two implants for those aged 60 to 64 ▲ and applying new coverage for edentulous patients in accordance with the above age groups.
Vice President Shin In-cheol said, "We actively support candidate Lee's policy to expand implant insurance coverage," adding, "This pledge must be included in future government policies so that the public can enjoy the pleasure of chewing more and it will greatly help improve oral health."

The dentists emphasized, "To maintain the function of chewing food, the number of pairs of teeth that actually occlude and are capable of mastication is more important than simply the number of teeth remaining in the mouth, and at least four or more implants are necessary."
