Gwangju Seo-gu to Hold 'Online Parent Education' on the 12th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it will conduct parent education using online media for about 120 Dream Start families on the 12th.

This education was prepared to establish a sound sexual value system for children and to present rational guidance methods regarding sexuality.

In connection with the Seo-gu Family Center, this education will be conducted under the themes of ‘Child Sexual Education’ and ‘Our Children Growing Up in Sexuality’ by inviting professional instructors and chief counselors from the sexual education specialized institution ‘Pureun Auseong.’ It will be held through non-face-to-face online video conferences in two sessions: the first (10:30?12:00) and the second (13:30?15:00).

The educational content includes growth and development by life cycle, sexual sensitivity training, physical and emotional changes during puberty and sexual curiosity, dating, prevention of prostitution, sexual violence, and obscene materials.

A Seo-gu Dream Start official said, “We hope this education will serve as an opportunity to guide children to grow into individuals with a healthy sexual identity through professional child sexual education and counseling.”

He added, “We will continue to strive to prepare programs that can be beneficial by reflecting the needs of Dream Start families.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu Dream Start supports customized integrated services so that vulnerable children under the age of 12 can grow into healthy and happy members of society.
