President Moon Strongly Angered by Yoon's 'Deep-rooted Corruption Investigation' Remarks, Demands Apology (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in expressed strong anger at People Power Party presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol's remark on 'investigating accumulated evils' and demanded an apology.
On the morning of the 10th during a staff meeting, President Moon said, "Are you saying that when you served as the head of the Central District Prosecutors' Office and Prosecutor General, you turned a blind eye to the accumulated evils of this administration, or are you planning to fabricate nonexistent accumulated evils through planned investigations? You need to answer this," he added.
He continued, "I express strong anger at the baseless labeling of this administration as a target of investigations into accumulated evils and as illegal, and I demand an apology."
Earlier, candidate Yoon had expressed his intention to conduct investigations into accumulated evils of the Moon administration in a media interview.

It is unusual for President Moon, who had maintained a stance of 'election neutrality' and kept distance from the remarks of each candidate, to directly state his position. This is interpreted as a widespread recognition within the Blue House that candidate Yoon's recent remarks have crossed the line.
