Death of Military Personnel After COVID-19 Vaccination... 5th Case
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] A military soldier died after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. The number of deaths in the military following vaccination has increased to five.
According to the military on the 10th, a soldier in his 20s, A, showed symptoms such as difficulty breathing at a barracks of an army unit in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, and was urgently transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away.
It is known that A received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on the 26th of last month. A, who died 13 days after vaccination, reportedly had no underlying health conditions during his lifetime.
The number of deaths in the military after vaccination currently stands at five, with three dying after the third dose, and one each after the first and second doses. So far, causality with the vaccine has been recognized in only one of these cases.
Meanwhile, 351 new COVID-19 cases were reported on the same day. Among them, 71 are trainees belonging to the Basic Training Unit of the Air Force Education Command, where a cluster infection occurred. The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the unit has risen to 622, and the spread has not been contained. Two additional cases were confirmed in the Cheonghae Unit, bringing the total confirmed cases there to 59.
