The joint chairpersons of the "Korea Association of Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads" (hereinafter referred to as the Association) issued a statement on the 8th at the Supia Bucheon Lake Botanical Garden in Bucheon City, titled "Statement Urging the National Assembly to Quickly Pass the Supplementary Budget Bill to Support Small Business Owners and the Self-Employed."
In the statement, the Association pointed out, "The government-submitted supplementary budget is 14 trillion won, of which 11.5 trillion won is allocated for supporting small business owners; however, this supplementary budget is insufficient to support the damages suffered by small business owners and the self-employed."
They further expressed concern that due to significant differences in views between the government and ruling and opposition parties regarding the scale and timing of the supplementary budget proposed by leading presidential candidates, it is uncertain whether the supplementary budget will be prepared in time to urgently support small business owners and the self-employed.
Considering their urgency and the presidential election schedule, they emphasized that the supplementary budget must be prepared before February 14.
