JW Jungwoe Honorary Chairman Jongho Lee and Dongwon Pharm Chairman Suhwan Hyun Selected as Pharmaceutical Award Recipients

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Lee Jong-ho, Honorary Chairman of JW Pharmaceutical, Hyun Su-hwan, Chairman of Dongwon Pharmaceutical, and Jeong Byeong-pyo, former Chairman of the Korea Pharmaceutical Association General Assembly, have been selected as recipients of the 3rd Korea Pharmaceutical Industry Awards.
The Korea Pharmaceutical Association, Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association, and Korea Drug Distribution Association, which organize the Korea Pharmaceutical Industry Awards, announced the winners of the 3rd Korea Pharmaceutical Industry Awards on the 9th. On the 7th, Kim Dae-up, President of the Pharmaceutical Association, Won Hee-mok, Chairman of the Bio-Pharma Association, and Cho Sun-hye, Chairman of the Drug Distribution Association, held a meeting and selected Jeong Byeong-pyo, former Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Association General Assembly, for the pharmacist category; Lee Jong-ho, Honorary Chairman of JW Pharmaceutical, for the bio-pharma category; and Hyun Su-hwan, Chairman of Dongwon Pharmaceutical, for the drug distribution category.
Jeong, selected as the winner in the pharmacist category, was recognized for his contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical industry and the promotion of public health through his service as Chairman of the Korea Pharmaceutical Association General Assembly, Vice President of the Korea Pharmaceutical Association, and President of the Seoul Pharmaceutical Association.
Lee Jong-ho, the bio-pharma category winner, was acknowledged for his contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical industry, including the development of Korea’s first synthetic antibiotic “Lizinomycin” in 1969 and exporting the fully developed 3-chamber total parenteral nutrition product “Winerf” to the European market, the first among Asian pharmaceutical companies.
Hyun Su-hwan, the drug distribution category winner, was recognized for his contributions to systematizing the domestic pharmaceutical distribution industry by smoothly supplying about 20,000 types of pharmaceuticals annually to hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and public health centers nationwide, as well as through the Korea Good Supply Practice (KGSP) standards for pharmaceutical distribution quality management.
The heads of the three organizing bodies of the Pharmaceutical Industry Awards agreed that all the recipients have dedicated their lives to the development of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare, contributing to the advancement of our economy and the improvement of public health.

The award ceremony for the 3rd Pharmaceutical Industry Awards will be held at the regular general meetings of each organization. If face-to-face ceremonies become uncertain due to unforeseen circumstances such as the spread of COVID-19, separate award ceremonies will be arranged according to each organization’s situation. Recipients will be awarded trophies along with three gold medals.
