Kim Eun-hye urges prosecution investigation into Kim Hye-kyung's allegations... "'Official car for me' following the 'beef corporate card' scandal"
Presentation of Suspicious Circumstances Regarding Lee Jae-myung During Budget Committee Policy Inquiry
"300 Million Won Used as Lee Jae-myung's Campaign Funds" Testimony from Nam Wook Secured
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Eun-hye, a member of the People Power Party, raised suspicions about the private use of an official vehicle by Kim Hye-kyung, the spouse of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate. She also called for a prosecution investigation by raising suspicions of judicial interference related to Seongnam city development projects involving Kim Man-bae, a key figure in the 'Daejang-dong scandal.'
On the 8th, during the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee comprehensive policy questioning, Rep. Kim said, "The Democratic Party explained that the official vehicle (Genesis) parked at the candidate's residence was not related to the spouse's private use, but Telegram messages contradicting this have emerged, confirming that it was unrelated to official duties."
She added, "At that time, the candidate was in Busan," and said, "'After the 'beef law card,' the 'official vehicle for me' will become another case of private use of public assets."
Rep. Kim also raised the issue of proxy prescriptions by Kim Hye-kyung and urged the Ministry of Health and Welfare to conduct a prompt investigation.
Additionally, on the same day, Rep. Kim presented further evidence of suspicions regarding Kim Man-bae's interference in trials related to Seongnam city development projects. Previously, regarding the candidate's cancellation of a private 'Seongnam City 1st Industrial Complex site development project,' the private company filed a lawsuit against Seongnam City, but the Supreme Court overturned the appellate court's ruling.
Rep. Kim revealed that during this process, she secured testimony that Kim Man-bae said, "The developer opposing the conversion of Seongnam 1st Industrial Complex into a park filed a lawsuit against Seongnam City, and I used my influence to have the Supreme Court overturn it." This testimony was given by Nam Wook, a lawyer and one of the key figures in the Daejang-dong scandal, during the prosecution investigation.
She also secured Nam's testimony that "After May 2014, among the 2.25 billion KRW loaned by the representative of the Daejang-dong sales agency to Nam Wook, Kim Man-bae received 1.2 billion KRW, part of which was given to Yoo Dong-gyu, who then used about 300 million KRW as election funds for Lee Jae-myung's Seongnam mayoral campaign," a fact recognized early last year.

Rep. Kim stated, "If the power and funds entrusted by the people were used by the candidate for personal purposes, this is a matter that must be strictly held accountable according to law and principles," and urged "a thorough investigation into the embezzlement of public funds by the candidate's spouse through the Public Service Management Officer under the Office for Government Policy Coordination, a thorough investigation into Kim Man-bae's judicial interference related to the candidate, and a thorough investigation into whether Daejang-dong funds flowed into election funds."
