Supply Disruption of Jeju Samdasoo Due to Logistics Issues... Some Online Sales Also Suspended
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The supply of Jeju Samdasoo to the mainland (other regions) is facing disruptions due to logistics issues. Some online channels have temporarily run out of stock of Samdasoo.
According to Jeju Samdasoo on the 8th, since last month, logistics problems have caused disruptions in the delivery of Samdasoo, resulting in an unstable supply of Jeju Samdasoo transported to Busan and Gyeongnam. Sales of Samdasoo have also been temporarily halted on some online channels. However, production is reported to be continuing as usual.
The Jeju Development Corporation explained that this situation occurred due to a decrease in the number of ship operations and an increase in deliveries of other agricultural products around the Lunar New Year holiday. Additionally, the nationwide increase in Samdasoo sales last month led to faster-than-expected depletion of stockpiled inventory, which also had an impact.
A Samdasoo official stated, "It is not completely sold out, but due to logistics issues, Samdasoo is out of stock on some online malls," adding, "There are no particular distribution problems offline."
