Yoon said, "If unification is to happen, it should be decided swiftly between Candidate Ahn and me, not publicly disclosed and carried out externally."
He also said, "The conservative camp says I am not desperate for unification, and the ruling party pretends to encourage unification, but it is a matter for me to decide."
Earlier, on the 6th, Yoon met with reporters in Gwangju and said about unification with Candidate Ahn, "Unification is an issue to be handled by me and the election campaign headquarters," adding, "Public expressions of opinion by various lawmakers regarding unification are on a personal level."

Meanwhile, Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, drew a line on candidate unification at the Incheon Seo-gu Gap party association victory resolution rally on the 6th, saying, "By this Friday (the 11th), the word 'unification' will no longer be mentioned."
