Additional 600 Million KRW Budget Invested Compared to Last Year, Total 2 Billion KRW for National Merit Support... Monthly Veterans' Honor Allowance Raised to 50,000 KRW... Separate 260 Million KRW Allocated for Customized Support by Recipient
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yu Deok-yeol) is expanding the courtesy and support for national veterans, including those who sacrificed for the country, as well as for veterans' halls and veterans' organizations.
This year, the district has increased the budget by 600 million KRW compared to last year, totaling 2 billion KRW, to provide operating expenses and event costs for veterans' organizations, consolation money, and death condolence money. In particular, the veterans' allowance, which was previously 30,000 KRW per month, has been raised to 50,000 KRW per month.
Separately, 260 million KRW has been allocated for the operation of veterans' halls, expanding support for national veterans by discovering customized projects for each veteran group, such as encouragement for Korean War veterans and support projects for low-income veterans.
The district also plans to increase the veterans' allowance annually until 2025.
