Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam Achieves 95% Distribution Rate of Daily Recovery Support Fund
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] It has been revealed that the payment rate of the daily recovery support fund in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has exceeded 95%.
Jangseong-gun has been providing a daily recovery support fund of 200,000 KRW per person in the form of Jangseong Love Gift Certificates since January 17 to overcome COVID-19 and achieve a rapid return to normal life.
This amount is twice that of last year's emergency disaster relief fund, and it is said that the response from local residents has been very positive. The required budget of 9 billion KRW for the support fund payment was fully secured through last year's main budget allocation using only county funds.
In particular, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a dedicated team was organized to ensure that as many residents as possible could benefit, focusing on the prompt payment of the support fund.
As of the 3rd, the payment rate was 95.3%, with a total of 41,457 residents receiving support. Considering that last year's disaster relief fund had a total payment rate of 96%, this is a very rapid figure.
The main places of use were restaurants, marts, and gas stations in that order, and about 17% was also used at hospitals, pharmacies, and convenience stores, indicating that the fund evenly supported the daily lives of residents.
Yoo Dooseok, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, “Yellow City Jangseong is owned by its residents, and the happiness of all residents is the ultimate goal of the county administration,” adding, “We will continue to carefully take care of the frozen local economy and people's livelihoods.”
