"Testing All Hope Residents" ... Hapcheon-gun Expands COVID-19 'Rapid Antigen Testing' Implementation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has recently expanded COVID-19 mass testing to residents who wish to be tested at 16 public health centers due to the surge in demand for Omicron-related testing.
During the pilot operation period from January 29 to February 2, 14 out of 900 people who underwent rapid antigen testing were confirmed positive.
The "rapid antigen test" provides results within 15 minutes and has the advantage that those who test positive can immediately undergo a genetic test (PCR), effectively blocking the community spread of COVID-19.
If individuals use self-test kits purchased at pharmacies to test at home, a negative confirmation certificate will not be issued. Those who test positive can immediately receive a PCR test at the county public health center screening clinic.
