Declared Last Year as the First Year of ESG Management...Established ESG Management Committee within the Board
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Woori Financial Group announced on the 4th that it was selected for the 'Industry Mover' rating in the 2022 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) announced by S&P Global, one of the world's top three credit rating agencies. Woori Financial Group is the only domestic financial group to be selected for the Industry Mover rating.
The CSA was conducted on more than 7,000 companies across 61 industries worldwide, and only 53 companies were awarded the Industry Mover rating. The Industry Mover is awarded by S&P Global in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) evaluation to one company per industry group that is within the top 15% in scores and has shown the greatest improvement in ESG performance compared to the previous year.
Woori Financial Group declared last year as the 'first year of ESG management' and established ESG management principles. In March last year, it also established the 'ESG Management Committee' within the board of directors, with all directors including Chairman Sohn Tae-seung participating to strengthen the execution of ESG management.
A Woori Financial Group official stated, "This Industry Mover rating is the result of all group companies working together to faithfully implement ESG management," and added, "As ESG is becoming mainstream in global management, Woori Financial Group will continue to advance its ESG management system and strive to become a global leading ESG company."
