Hansong Neotek-Shinhwa IT Signs Supply Contract with US Tesla Partner 'MediaTech'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Shinwha IT, a subsidiary specializing in secondary battery materials of Hansong Neotek, announced on the 3rd that it has signed a high-performance lead tab supply contract with 'Mediatek,' a battery manufacturing equipment partner of Tesla and U.S. solid-state battery companies. Through this contract, Shinwha IT plans to supply high-performance lead tabs for electric vehicle (EV) batteries to Mediatek.
According to the company, Mediatek gained attention for its technological capabilities last June by becoming the first domestic battery manufacturing equipment company to supply next-generation battery manufacturing equipment to a U.S. solid-state battery company. In addition, Mediatek is known to supply battery manufacturing equipment to Tesla and several major domestic battery companies.
A Hansong Neotek official stated, "Shinwha IT is accelerating the expansion of its secondary battery materials business as supply contracts and negotiations for high-performance lead tabs with global battery companies continue. Through this supply contract with Mediatek, we will be able to stably supply high-performance lead tabs not only domestically but also to U.S. solid-state battery companies."
