His plan is to achieve 'over 20% of the vote share in Honam' for presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol and break the regional political structure.
According to the People Power Party, from the 3rd to the 4th, Lee will visit areas including Sinan in Jeollanam-do, followed by Wando, Jangheung, and Goheung. This marks his return to Honam just two days after climbing Mudeungsan in Gwangju on the 1st. After the Mudeungsan ascent, Lee expressed his determination by saying, "I hope the regional political structure will be broken as Candidate Yoon receives more than 20% of the vote and gains significant support." The starting point of this Honam schedule also holds great significance, as Sinan is the hometown of former President Kim Dae-jung.
At a meeting held at the Youth Center in Aphae-eup, Sinan County, Lee expressed regret over the long-standing issue of Heuksan Airport, which is considered a key project by Honam residents, and comforted the locals. Heuksan Airport was a campaign promise of President Moon Jae-in but has faced difficulties due to economic feasibility and environmental concerns. Lee emphasized, "I believe Heuksan Airport holds various meanings, and it is important to have a flight route so that planes can operate, especially for the medical conditions of island residents."
Lee plans to personally inspect the fact that many island areas lack basic infrastructure such as bridge connections, water supply, and education. He stated, "The People Power Party frequently visits the Dadohae region, and the requests I heard today will be revisited after the election to report on progress."
