Chungnam to Conduct Joint Inspection of 'Fishing Boats' Until the 4th of Next Month
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will conduct a joint inspection of 106 fishing vessels operating within the region during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
The province announced on the 29th that it will carry out a 'Joint Inspection for Fishing Vessel Safety and Infectious Disease Prevention' with city and county offices, the Coast Guard, and the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority until the 4th of next month.
The joint inspection is being promoted to prevent safety accidents in advance in anticipation of an increase in fishing vessel users during the Lunar New Year holiday and to block the spread of infectious diseases mediated by the Omicron variant virus.
The inspection will focus on safety equipment readiness, the operational status of navigation and communication equipment, guidance on emergency response procedures, compliance with departure and arrival reporting, and the maintenance of passenger lists.
In particular, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases according to social distancing guidelines in daily life, the presence of hand sanitizers, maintaining a distance of at least 2 meters between anglers, periodic ventilation, and mask-wearing will also be checked.
Any violations detected during the inspection will be immediately corrected, and strong measures will be taken according to relevant regulations.
