28 COVID-19 Therapeutics and 11 Vaccines Approved for Clinical Trials in Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 28th that a total of 39 items have been approved for clinical trials so far, including 28 COVID-19 treatments and 11 vaccines.
Among the 28 COVID-19 treatments approved for clinical trials, 21 are domestically developed drugs. Of these, clinical trials for 14 items are currently underway, and 7 items have been completed.
There are 7 foreign-developed treatments, of which 3 are currently in the clinical trial phase and 4 have completed clinical trials.
Among the 11 COVID-19 vaccines, 10 are domestically developed and 1 is foreign-developed, all of which are currently undergoing clinical trials.
By platform, there are 5 recombinant vaccines, 3 DNA vaccines, 2 RNA vaccines, and 1 viral vector vaccine.
