The World of Quantum: All About Quantum Computers, the Technology That Will Change the World | Written by Lee Soonchil | Haenamu | 200 pages | 15,000 KRW
Although not yet fully practical, quantum computers have already been introduced to the world by companies such as IBM and Google, and many are investing in startups developing this technology. The expectation is that once quantum computers become practical, they will bring tremendous changes not only to science, technology, and industry but also to military and security sectors. However, very few people understand what quantum means or the principles behind quantum computers and quantum information communication. This book is an introductory guide to quantum computers written by Lee Soonchil, a top domestic expert from KAIST. Covering everything from the basic theories of quantum physics to quantum computers, quantum cryptography, quantum information communication, and predictions about the future changes they will bring, this book contains no formulas and is relatively easy to read. Being easy to read does not mean it is easy to understand, and the author himself notes that if quantum theory were easy to understand, that would be unusual. The author reportedly read the manuscript to his wife, who used to write poetry in her youth, and revised it until she understood it. As a result, this introductory book on quantum computers was created so that the general public can understand it to some extent. Quantum computers have now entered the realm of essential general knowledge that everyone should know. This book will sufficiently serve as a basic introduction for the general public and beginners to grasp the overall picture of the challenging subject of quantum computers.
