Lunar New Year Holiday 'Staying Home Trend' Continues but Decreases Compared to Last Year
Timon Conducts Survey Ahead of Seollal Holiday
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON announced on the 27th that in a survey conducted over four days starting from the 21st with 480 customers about their Lunar New Year holiday plans, 53% responded that they would "rest at home," the highest percentage. Additionally, 11% answered that they would "enjoy content such as videos and games at home." Although 64% of respondents chose a "stay-at-home holiday," showing a relatively high figure, it is a 21 percentage point decrease compared to last year's Lunar New Year survey result (85%).
Gift-giving during the holiday also continued to show a strong trend toward non-face-to-face methods. Sending "cash as a gift" ranked first with 39%. The response "I will send gifts through online channels such as TMON" (33%) ranked second, maintaining strong popularity. Furthermore, 8 out of 10 people answered that they purchase tickets needed for leisure activities online.
