'Hampyeong-gun's All-Out Effort to Prevent Omicron Spread... Special Quarantine System Established for Lunar New Year Holiday'
Priority PCR Testing for High-Risk Groups
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County Health Center is implementing special COVID-19 prevention measures to curb the spread of the Omicron variant during the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 27th, the county announced that during the Lunar New Year holiday period, temporary screening clinics will be set up at two locations: Hampyeong Expo Park and Hampyeong Cheonji Rest Area (towards Mokpo). COVID-19 testing will be conducted for residents and returning visitors until the 20th of next month.
The Health Center plans to prioritize polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for high-risk groups to speed up COVID-19 testing in response to the recent rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
Accordingly, those classified as high-risk groups (close contacts, elderly aged 60 and above, individuals confirmed positive by rapid antigen tests, etc.) can receive COVID-19 testing first at the two locations: Hampyeong Expo Park and Hampyeong Cheonji Rest Area.
For those outside the high-risk groups who wish to be tested, they will first take a self-test kit at the 'Rapid Antigen Testing Site' installed at Hampyeong Expo Park, wait about 15 to 20 minutes, and if the result is positive, they will receive a PCR test at the temporary screening clinic.
