Over 10,000 Confirmed Cases by 6 PM... Impact of Omicron Spread (Update)
Due to the spread of Omicron, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases has already exceeded 10,000 as of 6 PM on the 26th.
According to the quarantine authorities and local governments, from midnight to 6 PM on this day, a total of 10,164 people across 17 cities and provinces nationwide tested positive for COVID-19.
The previous highest number was 7,439 cases reported the day before. This marks an increase of 2,725 cases, setting a new record for the third consecutive day.
New confirmed cases were 6,387 (62.8%) in the metropolitan area and 3,777 (37.2%) in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, the numbers are as follows: Gyeonggi 2,923, Seoul 2,691, Incheon 773, Busan 720, Daegu 678, Gyeongbuk 485, Gwangju 342, Daejeon 300, Chungnam 289, Jeonbuk 231, Gangwon 165, Jeonnam 154, Gyeongnam 150, Chungbuk 112, Jeju 55, Ulsan 53, and Sejong 43.
