In the question asking about suitability as a unified candidate, Candidate Yoon led with 44.1%, while Candidate Ahn had 33.1%. In the previous survey (10th-11th), Candidate Ahn led with 39.6%, and Candidate Yoon had 35.6%.
In the hypothetical matchup survey against Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, Candidate Yoon received 47.2%, leading Candidate Lee, who had 36.3%, by 10.9 percentage points. In the hypothetical matchup between Candidate Ahn and Candidate Lee, Candidate Ahn received 38.1%, and Candidate Lee 31.1%. This shows that Candidate Yoon's competitiveness was higher in the hypothetical matchup. In the previous survey, Candidate Ahn had a 9.1 percentage point lead, and Candidate Yoon had a 5.5 percentage point lead.
In the survey asking about competitiveness, Candidate Yoon led with 46.9%, while Candidate Ahn had 32.6%.
So far, in the political sphere, there has been a constant "war of rules" depending on the candidates' interests regarding candidate unification through public opinion surveys, focusing on competitiveness, suitability, and hypothetical matchup methods. For example, in last year's Seoul mayoral by-election, Candidate Ahn, after brinkmanship negotiations with Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate (current Seoul mayor), decided on a method asking separately about competitiveness and suitability. In the People Power Party presidential primary, after controversy, a competitiveness method based on a hypothetical two-candidate matchup was adopted.
