Lee In-young, Briefing on North Korea Policy for Ambassadors to Korea and International Organizations
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 25th, Minister of Unification Lee In-young will explain the South Korean government's North Korea policy to ambassadors to South Korea and international organizations.
Lee Jong-joo, spokesperson for the Ministry of Unification, stated at a regular briefing on the 24th, "This briefing session will be attended by ambassadors and charg?s d'affaires from 31 countries, as well as representatives of eight international organizations' Korea offices, including the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations World Food Programme."
At this event, Minister Lee will personally assess the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula and explain the direction of this year's North Korea policy. The spokesperson explained, "Through this policy briefing, we aim to build a consensus with countries around the world that the situation on the Korean Peninsula should progress not toward tension and conflict but toward peace and cooperation, and to discuss ways to cooperate for this purpose."

Meanwhile, regarding the Voice of America (VOA) report that the North Korean Punggye-ri nuclear test site, which was demolished in 2018, is being continuously managed and inspected, the Ministry of Unification stated, "It is difficult to confirm specific details."
