The Marine Autonomous Defense Corps is a civilian autonomous defense organization mainly composed of local fishermen, supporting defense operations in the event of marine pollution accidents and conducting regular marine cleanup activities to preserve a clean marine environment.
Since the 17th, Mokpo Maritime Police has been touring 22 locations (325 members, 200 vessels) of the Marine Autonomous Defense Corps within its jurisdiction, starting with the Haksan Defense Corps in Hampyeong County and the Doripo Defense Corps in Muan County, explaining the joint defense training plans, sharing mutual opinions to eliminate blind spots in marine pollution, and listening to difficulties related to defense operations.
Furthermore, this year, joint defense training, specialized education courses, and non-face-to-face education using SNS will be conducted together with the Marine Autonomous Defense Corps.
