View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] South Korea's cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb announced on the 24th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the global esports company Gen.G Esports.
Through this agreement, Bithumb will sponsor the 'Gen.G PUBG Team' and the 'Seoul Dynasty (Overwatch) Team' in line with the opening of the PUBG (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) and Overwatch leagues. During the contract period, the Gen.G PUBG Team and Seoul Dynasty Team will wear official uniforms featuring the Bithumb logo.
They also plan to conduct joint marketing and branding using Gen.G Esports' content. Going forward, both parties agreed to actively utilize intellectual property (IP), including the Gen.G logo and slogan, in their online and offline businesses. Additionally, they will explore ways to revitalize Gen.G Esports' Discord channel 'Tiger Nation.'
Gen.G is an esports company additionally founded by Kevin Chou, the founder of the well-known North American mobile game company Kabam. Gen.G Esports has a strong fan base in game titles popular worldwide among the MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z), such as League of Legends, Overwatch, and PUBG.
